Small Moments

We have been writing about "a small moment" during Writer's Workshop.  This means that the students are writing about something that has actually happened to them.  The students are becoming so much more independent in stretching out their words.  Please encourage them to not only write the beginning sounds, but ending sounds in words.  Many of the students are even beginning to write some of those middle sounds.  This afternoon, the students loved making egg salad.  Many of them thought they wouldn't like it, but were pleasantly surprised.
